Woo hoo! The Smurfs turned 50 today! (Finally, something that's older than me!)That's the smurfiest news I've had all day. Remember how smurfy the smurfs were when we were kids? Every Saturday, I'd wake up for more smurfy adventures.
That Gargamel! I always fretted he would smurf my beloved smurfs away. (Later, I encountered my own Gargamel in the form of Dr. Morton Achter, the music department chair in college who bore a smurfy resemblance to the dastardly villain.)
And to be honest, smurfy things come in blue - like the Blue Man Group. Kind of makes me want to smurf myself blue.
