Delicioso!

Simon and I did one of our favorite Sunday morning rituals -- church, brunch and bookstore.

Today, we hit up the Dublin Community Church in our tour of Columbus finest religious places. I liked it; Simon thought there was too much sitting and standing. (It WAS a little exhausting!)

After that, we decided to reward our holiness with brunch. We passed the Sweet Clove Sunshine Cafe with a large sign that said "Now Open - Your Favorite Breakfast and Lunch Spot." Hmmm...why not?

The restaurant is attached to the Honeybaked Ham store. It's a brand new concept - a pilot store being run by the Honeybaked Ham Corp. Everything was cheery - decorated in yellow and white. A roaring fireplace was in the corner. It felt airy and bright.

They seated us next to the fireplace and brought out complimentary coffee cake. (So delicious!) I ordered the Vegetarian Eggs Benedict - it was eggs benedict with roasted peppers, caramelized onions and sauteed mushrooms instead of ham. Simon ordered the French toast. When the server brought out Simon's French toast, a lady followed behind him with a giant mixing bowl. I was trying to figure out what the heck she was doing -- then I realized it was a giant bowl of homemade whipped cream. (Some restaurants bring pepper grinders - this one doles out the whipped cream!)

Our food was delicious. The manager came by to chat with us. He said they have no fryers and nothing is cooked in grease. It's a green kitchen -so eco-friendly and as healthy as eggs and pancakes and breakfast potatoes can be.

We loved it so much, we've decided to become regulars!

Afterward, we went to Border's where I discovered that V.C. Andrews has a new vampire book out. The blurb on the cover says "The Vampire Book fans have been craving since Flowers in the Attic." Wonder if this one will have incest as well...incest and fangs - an unbeatable conversation!
