Is It Pathetic to Be So Entertained By Celebrity Gossip?

I just heard a radio story about how Jessica Simpson is going to be playing Lucy Ewing in the upcoming Dallas movie (which also stars J-Lo and John Travolta, oddly enough.)

The story said J-Lo was upset about Jessica's appearance in the movie because Jessica isn't "a serious actress." Since when did J-Lo become the acting police? She was a Fly Girl! Do Gigli, The Wedding Planner & Angel Eyes ring any bells?

Another story reported that the original Lucy, Charlene Tilton, thinks that at 25, Jessica is far too old for the role. When you're too old for stuff at 25, what is the world coming to? And what are the rest of us supposed to do? Start eating prunes?!?

P.S. I can't vouch for the truthfulness of these stories. I just write 'em like I hear 'em!
