What is a career woman, you might ask?
Someone who:
- has a university-level (or higher) education
- works more than 35 hours a week outside the home and
- makes more than $30,000 a year.
Why should men avoid these devil women, you also might ask?
- You are less likely to get married to her.
- If you do marry, you are more likely to get divorced.
- She is more likely to cheat on you.
- You are much less likely to have kids.
- If you do have kids, your wife is more likely to be unhappy.
- Your house will be dirtier.
- You'll be unhappy if she makes more than you.
- She will be unhappy if she makes more than you.
- You are more likely to fall ill.
Yes, all these things are solely caused by women working outside the home. Men are 100% unable to clean the house or go to the doctor on their own.
This is my absolute favorite example of faulty reasoning:
The other reason a career can hurt a marriage will be obvious to anyone who has seen their mate run off with a co-worker: When your spouse works outside the home, chances increase they'll meet someone they like more than you. "The work environment provides a host of potential partners," researcher Adrian J. Blow reported in the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, "and individuals frequently find themselves spending a great deal of time with these individuals."
Yes, because men never, ever run off with their secretaries. The blame lies solely on those business suit-clad women flouncing around the office trolling for long steamy evenings being bent over the copy machine. Puh-leaze! (misspelling is for effect.) The stupid study doesn't even say that women are the ones cheating!
And if you want more giggles, check out the author's picture. He looks exactly like the kind of guy who would be threatened by being married to a smart, successful, attractive woman. His ideal woman is probably someone chained naked to a stove.
This kind of backwards thinking makes me CRAZY!
Weight Watchers Update
Yes, I know. It doesn't fit with this topic, but it keeps me accountable. I only went a couple of points into my extra points allotment - plus I did a kick-butt workout for 60 minutes. It was so hard, I was practically panting.

That Forbes article was absolutely ridiculous. I can't believe they'd post something like that in the first place.
The fact that they took it down -- did they not EXPECT that kind of backlash? Or maybe no one bothered to READ it before posting?
The fact that they reposted it with an equally offensive article from the OTHER perspective doesn't make it any better, it just goes on to offend MORE people.
