That and learning that New York is under a travel advisory, which means my flight (and trip) might get canceled! Along with learning that I have indeed lost the 5 pounds I gained on my last work trip. Take that, flabby ass!
I am feeling immensely cheerier. I did my taxes and learned I'm getting a nice little refund. Yes, I know it's like giving the government free money all year long but I don't care. I like getting my refund!
I've also been working on my family tree using ancestry.com, and I've found out all kinds of interesting tidbits about my roots. The benefit of using ancestry.com is you get to take advantage of other people's hard work. Some people in my family have already traced our roots back to Scotland and Ireland and Germany. It just auto-fills my tree in a fantabulous way. And the site also tells you who some of your famous relatives might be although it can't guarantee accuracy. Apparently Geoffrey Chaucer of The Canterbury Tales fame is my 22nd great grandfather and, much to my horror, Ronald Reagan is a 9th cousin twice removed. Who knows if it's actually true, but it's kind of fun all the same!
My Latest Bellydancing Tape Review
In my quest for finding the perfect bellydancing workout video, I checked out Hip Hop Hip Drop from the library. There's nothing hip hop about it, but it IS a pretty decent bellydancing workout. I was reasonably tired when I got finished with it. The moves are authentic - a couple are things we recently learned in my advanced class!
The main problem is the instructor. She has a vapid porn star expression on her face the entire time, which I found a little distracting. She seriously looked like she had never had a unique thought in her entire life. She distracted me throughout the entire workout because I was trying to figure out if she had a mental handicap.
