I didn't want to wait until the actual timed mile to run for the first time, since I wasn't sure how my body would react. What if I collapsed in a heap or hyperventilated or turned into a red, panting sweatball?
I used mapmyrun.com to map out a mile in my neighborhood and went to town. (It's a really cool tool - you should check it out!) Obviously I didn't run the whole time -there was some walking involved as well, but I clocked in at about 12 minutes. I know that's insanely slow, but I feel it's a reasonable time for someone who hasn't run in 17 years. I'll take it!
I do feel like collapsing in a heap on the floor, but it can only get better from here!
My Weekly Weigh-In
I lost 2 pounds last week - go me! Now I just have 18 to go...hoping to have it all off by Thanksgiving.

good for you!!! running is so intimidating! That is why i just stick with an elliptical, i can't handle exercising outside having everyone judge my poor form and what not
