I start boot camp on Monday. I'm fretting about the overall experience, but I'm absolutely PETRIFIED of the timed mile on Friday. I haven't run since the 7th grade and it wasn't that fabulous of an experience then. (I just remember the coach screaming "Stretch that stride, Laura.")I didn't want to wait until the actual timed mile to run for the first time, since I wasn't sure how my body would react. What if I collapsed in a heap or hyperventilated or turned into a red, panting sweatball?
I used mapmyrun.com to map out a mile in my neighborhood and went to town. (It's a really cool tool - you should check it out!) Obviously I didn't run the whole time -there was some walking involved as well, but I clocked in at about 12 minutes. I know that's insanely slow, but I feel it's a reasonable time for someone who hasn't run in 17 years. I'll take it!
I do feel like collapsing in a heap on the floor, but it can only get better from here!
My Weekly Weigh-In
I lost 2 pounds last week - go me! Now I just have 18 to go...hoping to have it all off by Thanksgiving.

good for you!!! running is so intimidating! That is why i just stick with an elliptical, i can't handle exercising outside having everyone judge my poor form and what not
